Extraordinary, early side chair designed by Egon Eiermann in 1949 and produced by Wilde + Spieth between 1950-1955. Originally named the ‘SE3’, but more commonly known as model ‘SE42’.
The SE3 chair is an iconic example of modern industrial design, combining innovative manufacturing techniques with functional simplicity. Constructed from just five pieces of moulded plywood and supported by three legs (because three was all that was needed) it is a striking expression of minimalism, ingenuity, and purposeful design.
This exceptional version features black legs combined with a red seat and backrest, a rare and striking colour combination.
In fully original and good vintage condition, with a rich, authentic patina.
